migFx – PDMv2 Compliant

– it’s different and its better.

migFx is a comprehensive and industry proven toolset for complex data migration. hopp tech have worked hard to create an efficient and easy to use platform, saving you time and money.

migFx is built around maintaining and migrating business logic, not data elements. It is user friendly and does not require massive coding efforts or skills. migFx will save you time and money compared to build bespoke solution, whilst lowering project risk and ensuring data quality.

migFx offers end to end data migration support from any source system by mapping complex business logic and transforming it to auto generated code. With detailed execution and extensive tracking, any problems are quick and easy to solve.

To ensure that our toolset works with the leading industry methodology on data migration we asked Johny Morris, author of Practical Data Migration to make a assessment as to the toolsets compliance with the Practical Data Migration methodology.

Here is an extract from Johny Morris report:

migFx is an extract, transform and load (ETL) generator and migration engine.  Its fully integrated functions mean that it sits over both gap analysis & mapping (GAM) and migration design and execution (MDE).  Therefore, the traditional flow from mapping, to design, to build, to execution is automated within the software.  This removes the error introducing handoffs that traditionally occur.

One of its unique strengths is its support for Units of Migration (called Business Objects in migFx). Business Objects are validated as a unit and are migrated as a whole or not at all.  This removes the necessity to have special roll back code written.  It also provides other benefits in terms of data lineage, DQR reporting etc. as detailed in the commentary below.

For its key role, at the heart of a data migration project, it provides the best fit to PDMv2 of any software so far examined.
