Cookie policy

The cookies and browser storage hopp.tech uses, and how to change your choice.

Updated: October 2026

This policy explains how Hopp Tech Ltd (“we”) uses cookies and similar browser storage on hopp.tech. It sits alongside our privacy policy, which explains how we handle personal data more broadly.

What cookies and browser storage are

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device. Local storage and session storage are similar: they let a site keep a small piece of information in your browser. Some of these are needed for the site to work. Others, such as analytics and advertising cookies, are only used if you agree.

Your choice

When you first visit hopp.tech, a banner at the bottom of the screen offers two choices of equal weight:

  • Accept all allows the analytics and marketing tools described below.
  • Necessary only allows only what the site needs to work. Nothing else is loaded.

Until you choose, nothing beyond the strictly necessary is loaded. We remember your choice for 12 months, and then ask again. We also ask again if the tools we use change.

You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. If you withdraw consent, we remove the Google Analytics cookies set on hopp.tech, and no analytics or marketing tool loads on the pages you visit afterwards. Cookies that LinkedIn has already set on its own domain can be removed in your browser’s settings.

Strictly necessary

These keep the site secure and working, and do not need your consent.

hopp-theme (local storage)hopp.techRemembers whether you chose the light or the dark theme.Until you clear it
hopp-utm (session storage)hopp.techKeeps the campaign tags of the link you arrived by (such as utm_source), so that a form you send in the same visit records where you came from. It is sent to us only with a form. When you close the tab

The local and session storage entries are not cookies: they stay in your browser and are not sent to us with each page request.

Our internal preview site, which is not open to the public, also uses a Cloudflare Access cookie (CF_Authorization) to confirm that a visitor is signed in. It is not used on hopp.tech.

Analytics

Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views and measures how quickly pages load. It sets no cookies, uses no browser storage and does not identify or follow you between sites, so it runs for every visitor.

Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, tells us which pages are read and how visitors move through the site. It loads only if you choose Accept all.

_ga_<container id>Google, on hopp.techKeeps the state of the current visit.2 years

Marketing

The LinkedIn Insight Tag, loaded through Google Tag Manager, tells us which LinkedIn campaigns bring visitors to the site and lets us reach groups of visitors on LinkedIn. It loads only if you choose Accept all. These cookies are set by LinkedIn, mostly on its own domain.

When you send a form, we record that a form was sent, which form it was and its topic, so we can see which pages lead to enquiries. Your name, email address and message are never passed to analytics or marketing tools.

Managing cookies in your browser

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies and site data. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop forms or parts of the site from working.
