Privacy policy

Updated: October 2026

Hopp Tech Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects the privacy of everyone who visits hopp.tech (“the site”). This policy explains what personal data we collect through the site, why, where it is kept, who we share it with and the rights you have. It applies only to this site: other sites we link to, such as Hopp Academy, the Support wiki and LinkedIn, have their own policies.

How the site uses cookies and browser storage is set out in our cookie policy.

Who we are

  1. The site is owned and operated by Hopp Tech Ltd, a limited company registered in England under company number 10421313, whose registered address is 86-90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE, United Kingdom. Our VAT number is 262732114.
  2. Hopp Tech Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
  3. Our Data Protection Officer can be contacted through the contact page, by telephone on +44 (0)203 322 1718, or by post at 86-90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE, United Kingdom.

What data we collect

You can read the whole site without telling us who you are. We collect personal data only in these cases:

  1. When you send a form. The newsletter sign-up asks only for your email address. The “Talk to us” form, the contact page and the white paper request ask for your name, company, work email address and, depending on the form, your location, an optional phone number, your message, the white paper you asked for and whether you agree to be contacted about it. With the form we record the page you sent it from, the site that referred you, and the campaign tags of the link you arrived by (such as utm_source), if any.
  2. When you visit the site. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the pages and to protect the site and its forms from automated traffic. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies and without identifying you.
  3. Only if you choose “Accept all” in the cookie banner. Google Analytics records which pages are read and how visitors move through the site, and the LinkedIn Insight Tag records which LinkedIn campaigns bring visitors here. The cookie policy lists the cookies they set.

Your name, email address and message are never passed to analytics or marketing tools.

How we use your data

  1. We use the details you send in a form to reply to you, to send you the white paper you asked for, and to keep a record of our conversation with you. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries about our products and services.
  2. If you tick the box on the white paper form, or otherwise agree, we may contact you about the paper and about our products and services. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  3. If you sign up for our newsletter, we use your email address to send you news from Hopp: product releases, migration know-how and events. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link in any newsletter.
  4. Analytics and marketing cookies are used only with your consent, given in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page.
  5. We process technical data to keep the site secure and working. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in protecting the site.
  6. If you become a customer or supplier, we use your data to perform our contract with you and to meet our legal obligations, such as keeping financial records.
  7. We will not send you unsolicited marketing, and we comply with the UK GDPR, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation 2016/679) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003.

How long we keep your data

We keep personal data no longer than we need it for the reason it was collected:

  1. Customer contact: records of customer relationships and relevant interactions. Reviewed annually, and deleted where the individual has not been a client for more than a year.
  2. Customer and supplier accounts: billing and financial records. Reviewed annually, and kept for 6 years as the law requires.
  3. Enquiries and marketing contact: the details you send through the site, used to reply to you and, with your consent, to keep in touch. Reviewed annually, and deleted when you ask or when we can no longer reach you.
  4. Other business activities: data needed to maintain relationships with suppliers, potential suppliers and other third parties, in our legitimate interest in the proper management of our business.

Where your data is kept

  1. The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Cloudflare serves each visitor from the data center nearest to them, which for visitors in Europe is a data center in Europe.
  2. The details you send in a form are stored in Freshsales, our customer relationship management system, provided by Freshworks. Freshworks hosts data in the United States, the European Economic Area, India and Australia; see Freshworks’ data hosting details.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that run the site and our customer records for us, under contracts that require them to protect it:

  1. Cloudflare: hosting, security, the Turnstile check on our forms, Web Analytics and the videos on the site.
  2. Freshworks: Freshsales, where the details you send in a form are stored.
  3. Google: Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, only if you choose “Accept all”.
  4. LinkedIn: the LinkedIn Insight Tag, only if you choose “Accept all”.

We may also have to share data where the law requires it, for example to comply with a court order or a request from a public authority.

If our business changes hands

If all or part of our business is sold or transferred, personal data relevant to that part may be transferred with it. The new owner may use it only for the purposes for which we collected it.

Your rights

  1. You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. No fee is payable.
  2. To use any of these rights, contact us through the contact page or the details in “Who we are” above. Please make clear that your request is about your personal data.
  3. You can unsubscribe from any email we send you with the link in the email.
  4. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) in the UK, or to the data protection authority where you live. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Changes to this policy

We may change this policy from time to time, for example when the law or the site changes. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
