Total Data Migrations Coordination

Portal Component Header Graphic

Improved control and tracking

Portal provides a complete planning, orchestration, and monitoring environment for effortless tracking and coordination of even the most complex data migration.

PORTAL FEATURES

  • Run Migration

The Portal controls the Core execution engine, recognizes and manages data flows, while maintaining data integrity throughout the migration process.  With the Portal, users can easily configure execution values and perform migrations, monitor the process, and see live updates from the migration engine. This way, you can quickly respond to any critical issues.

  • Track Results

Migration results are reported as migration events. Events are created based on the Studio target and source maps (specifications) and categorized by severity so actions can be addressed based on impact. Drilling down from overview to individual items can easily be done providing the user direct access to underlying triggers and data

  • Collaborate and Communicate

The aim is to establish a common understanding or reference of the state of the migration for all stakeholders. The Dashboard, Scope, Event, Issues keep the process transparent for all stakeholders. Staying informed and engaged is key for success.

How It Works

The Portal provides the migration team with an interface and essential tools to carry out the data migration, view and track results, and more.

It ensures nothing is overlooked, from tracking all events and audit details to showing results and tasks. Even when changes are made repeatedly, the Portal keeps track of the changing information to ensure the migration runs smoothly and reliably.

Using this software component, you can ensure that data linked to all business objects is used and generated throughout the process. It pinpoints differences between iterations for precise analysis and improved decision-making.

Execution of Multiple Data Migration Projects

With robust support for concurrent operations, the Portal facilitates the execution of multiple data migration projects simultaneously, even across different servers.

For every role

The Portal provides the migration team with an interface and must-have tools to carry out the data migration, view and track results

  • Technical Consultant

A successful migration requires having access to the data from the source system and knowing how to insert it into the target system.

  • Functional Consultant

You establish the specific data modelling and transformation rules and assign flags and events to any situation that needs to be addressed should they occur during the data migration.

  • Business User

You articulate the requirements, test and sign off that they have been meet. With the Portal, you can see exactly how data moves from the source system to the new system and where it is changed and added.

Optional Modules

  • Scope and Planning

The Planning Module assists in shaping and documenting the scope of a new project. It serves as the baseline and reference for the migration team and the test and delivery status for the different areas within the scope.

The project team can use it to track any changes to the agreed scope, as well as sign off on each area included in the scope that the area has been tested in accordance with scope/specifications.

  • Item Manager Module

Effective management and organization of work items during the migration project are paramount for the success of any project. Often, projects use external project management and activity tools like Jira with the security risk they involve.

Our configurable Item Management module is a robust solution that empowers teams and individuals to organize, track, and manage various items such as tasks, activities, and risks - while keeping sensitive information inside the migration project.

  • Audit Module

Hopp contains interfaces to inspect the migrated data and collect Audit Data that represents the actual result of the migration. By implementing these interfaces, a migration project can collect the Audit Data from each Business Object as it is migrated and hand back the collected audit data to the Hopp Runtime.

Hopp also provides an Audit Result interface, which can be initiated from the Portal and will receive all the collected Audit data for all Business Objects.

How to Manage the Migration using Portal

The Portal provides all stakeholders with a shared view of the current state, events, and tasks. Migration jobs can be initiated, and all data elements in the migration can be viewed, issues addressed, and actions assigned, making the data migration a transparent and well-managed process.

Executing the Migration Flow

Migration jobs can be quickly initiated in the Portal with parameters for full or partial runs and even single objects. is a Runtime process carrying out a process on data.

Jobs are simply applying the mapping that you or a team member may have completed in Studio or the generated and deployed in Core, including Valuesets etc.

FAQS

The Portal presents the migration results and events. As a web application, it is easily reachable by all stakeholders, including users from the businesses or customers involved in the migration.

The aggregations in the Portal provides a comprehensive understanding of the overall quality of the migration iteration, including baseline comparisons that reveal trends since the last iteration.

In addition, the Portal provides detailed information for each migrated business object, providing rich support for users to analyze the results and seek explanations for any issues.

The Portal provides collaboration functionality, enabling users to keep track of Events' states, comment on Events, and assign users to be responsible for resolving events. Notifications will alert users when their attention is required. The optional Item Manager module allows the team to go even further in creating activities, tasks, etc, to co-manage and communicate with each other the project lifecycle.

The Portal Operations controls the server-based Core Runtime component and enables a user to orchestrate the data migration and initiate and monitor jobs as required.

While the Core Runtime is executing migration jobs, the user monitoring the job execution may view the Events raised by the migration engine as they happen realtime in the Portal.

In this way, it is possible to react quickly in case of serious and invalidating Events.
